Yesterday, Apple updated their basic and cheapest laptop - the white plastic MacBook. The updates are: faster CPU, from 2.26GHz to 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. The processor is just a faster version of the previous one, no changes in the FSB or the Level 2 Cache size (3MB) powerful video card, NVIDIA GeForce 320M, the previous was GeForce 9400M. Its again a integrated video card with 256MB of memory. Apple reports that this card is faster than the 9400M between 30% to 80% (this tests are based on games) better battery, which can run for 10 hours straight. One of the most useful upgrades, with this long lasting battery you can use your laptop for a whole day. I presume that it will not last that long if you play a game or a movie, but with some office work, playing music or surfing the web it will last With these upgrades, now is the time to buy the white MacBook

Mac Mini with HDMI?
The next version of the Mac Mini may be with HDMI connector replacing the now existing miniDVI reports AppleInsider

The port sits besides mini DisplayPort connector and marks the first instance of full-featured HDMI connectivity on a Mac. It also represents only the second Apple product to feature the port outside of the company’s fledgeling Apple TV streaming media device. Cosmetically, the Mac mini is otherwise said to look identical to existing models, with no other visible changes to its enclosure.
So it seems that Apple is paying close attention to what the users are saying about the Mac Mini, because using the Mini as Home Theater Center is one of common use of this machine and including an HDMI port will make the cinema experience more enjoyable. While the current video connectors are enough for Home Cinema setup, using the HDMI will make the sound cable from the computer to the TV unnecessary, because the HDMI cable can supply both video and audio signals. Alongside the new connector, the new Mac Mini-s will include new chipset: Nvidia’s MCP89
At least one of the Mac mini prototypes described by those privy to the hardware is said to include Nvidia’s MCP89 chipset, which is the successor to the existing MCP79 (or GeForce 9400M) chipset found alongside Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors across the majority of Apple’s existing Mac product line.
The bad news is that the use of this chipset means that the processor will be again Intel Core 2 Duo (because of some licensing dispute with Nvidia and Apple) while I was hoping for Quadcore Nehalem processor.
What are you thinking about these news?
Differences in the Mac Mini models
I have heard many people to wonder about, what are the differences between the two 2009 models of the Mac Mini – early 2009 and late 2009. So here I will show the differences about this two models and even with their predecessor the 2007 Mac Mini – you may wonder why I am writing this, but again some people are wondering if there is a meaning to get a second hand 2007 Mac Mini or to go with the newest one.
